October 2011 - Hyundai Eon, Honda Brio, Indian GP

  • Hyundai Eon launches on October 13, starts at Rs. 2.75 lakh ex-showroom. Direct competitor to Maruti Alto which sells 30,000 per month. Eon is taller and very conventional design. It comes with 814cc three cylinder petrol engine. Fluidic design outside and interiors good too. The car could do with window mounted door handle for back doors like Chevy Beat. This car is a big threat to Suzuki in number game. Hyundai doing good in all segments except i20.


  • Honda Brio Starts selling from Sept 29th. The boot is coloured back. Starts 4.90 lakhs ex-showroom. So all major players have a small car in their linue up now, Toyota Liva launched three months ago. But Toyota Liva and Etios have speedo console at center of the dashboard which is unconventional in the market.
  • First Indian GP to be held on 30th this month in Greater Noida near Delhi. It is called Buddh International circuit measuring 5.1km built by Jaypee Group which is building Delhi-Agra expressway. The race will have 60 laps
